My dad Jonne was born in Finland long time ago in 1973. He moved to the USA with his family to help the US Biathlon Team to win Olympic gold in 2014. An interesting detail about their their immigration to the USA  is that they made the decision on moving in June and moved in August. That was fast!!! They sold their house and all their stuff in Finland before they came here. They only had five bags of clothes and a few little boxes of personal things as they arrived.

My dad speaks Finnish, English, Swedish and some German. All my relatives still live in Finland, except my aunt who lives in Egypt. We use many Finnish traditions. We celebrate midsummer in the end of June and Finland's Independence Day on December 6th. Santa Claus visits us on Christmas Eve. We go to sauna almost every day, eat sour-dough rye bread and have our pancakes thin and crispy on the edges.
